The course is designed around the existing 70+ trees. We anticipate only removing 3-4 of the smaller trees and none of the grandfather oaks.
The only decorations are natural landscaping such as trees, plants, and rocks. There are 2 water fountains and a rock waterfall.
The course is built at the existing grade. We have purposely avoided bringing in fill dirt that would hurt tree roots. There are no hills or streams.
This course is a newer style of natural courses designed for adults and kids --not the old-style, tacky looking ones. You won't find any windmills, fiberglass animals, colored lights, elves, miniature buildings or other garrish decor. The challenge and enjoyment of this course is the twists, turns, bank shots, rock obstacles, undulations and natural beauty of tasteful landscaping and shady, grandfather oaks. It is something that families, seniors, grandkids and everyone can enjoy whether practicing their putting or just enjoying some family time after dinner.
The course won't be visible from Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. It starts after the Pebble Creek Community Entry, one football stadium-length (over 330 feet) past the Regents Park Drive (Wal-Mart) intersection, just after the sidewalk to the Community Center.
Hillsborough County Planning and Growth Management (PGM) initially opposed this project, but after several revisions in response to community concerns, PGM recommends APPROVAL.
