Why Build a Miniature Golf at Pebble Creek Golf Club?

Why Proposed – to ensure ongoing viability of the golf club and to offer more family recreation
Pebble Creek Golf Club lost money under prior owners and had fallen into disrepair (membership had fallen from over 300 down to 50; rounds fell from 45,000 to 30,000)
  • Trying to restore profitability of previously failing golf club with another low-impact use
  • Part of a plan that includes renovation of the golf club and offering more services
  • Wish to find productive, consistent use for vacant 1-acre parcel at entrance to golf club
  • Adds a related, recreational service to attract New Tampa residents to use or join the golf club – we need more customers to remain a viable business
  • Expands the scope of local residents that might enjoy the golf club, including older members and residents who can no longer play golf and kids who can’t yet play regular golf
  • More efficient, complimentary use of existing facilities – the golf course is always busiest in early mornings; the miniature golf is most active in the late afternoon and early evenings
  • Natural, golf-related accessory use that is less intensive than the existing bar/restaurant and golf course.
  • Meets the critical need for family recreational services in fast-growing New Tampa
